EU Votes Against 30% Carbon Emissions Cut

A failed attempt by the EU to spread Climate Change fear with vague predictions

The European Parliament has voted No to the planned increase in carbon emissions cuts from 20% to 30% by 2020, from the 1990 levels of emissions.

The European Leaders of the Church of Climatology Chris Huhne and the unelected Connie Hedegaard had been pushing for the reduction in emissions and trumpeting loudly that all the EU states were behind their plan for EU economic ruin.

The Guardian and Independent carried stories about Tory MEPs going to cause the end of civilisation by voting against the cuts, David Cameron got involved, the Tory MEPs ignored Cameron and a voted against the cuts, but, their votes were not decisive:

The European parliament on Tuesday rejected a key report that would have toughened the EU stance on greenhouse gas emissions, after political wrangling that wrecked hopes of a compromise.

A rebellion by the UK’s Tory MEPs helped to swing the vote against a tougher target on how much carbon emissions should be cut by 2020, but was not decisive, according to insiders.

The vote does not put an end to green campaigners’ hopes of a more ambitious emissions reduction target – a higher cut of 30% by 2020 on 1990 levels rather than 20% – as the issue will continue to be debated, but is a setback.

The key words here being “not decisive”, the whole story being pushed by the Left was those nasty Climate Change denying Tories MEPs were going to stop the emissions suicide pact, when in fact, it made no difference how the Tory MEPs voted; resistance to Climate Religion in the EU is not limited to just a few Tory MEPs.

Climate Religion is dying in Europe despite the propaganda poured out by Chris Huhne, Connie Hedegaard, Greenpeace, FoE et al, now Poland that put the stop to  the EU Energy Roadmap 2050 has taken over the rolling Presidency of the EU and it is a certainty that Climate Religion will go on the back burner while Poland is in charge.

There is a lesson for David Cameron here, start listening to your party and stop hearing the warming alarmist Lib Dems in the Government to the exclusiuon of all else.
