COP17 Fear Stories – The Guardian Lies About Extreme Weather
With COP17 Durban just 10 days away from
disintegration starting, the Climate of Fear campaign is gathering pace and this years scary fear story is Anthropogenic Global Warming causes extreme weather events, which is not the case.
Al Gore in his recent embarrassing
24 Hours of Climate Reality Goregasm attempted to link any weather event he could think of to Climate Change and was ridiculed by both sides of the Climate Change debate for his trouble.
The new IPCC report has been carefully leaked to see how the world reacts to what Jo Nova describes as “IPCC scientists testing the exit doors“, in short the IPCC now say that they are not sure that atmospheric CO2 causes Global Warming, a seismic shift from their 2007 Fourth Assessment that was totally sure that CO2 was the most evil gas, ever.
Damian Carrington at the Guardian is at it again, trying to re-spin the old lies from the IPCC 2007 Fourth Assessment Report, and use this to blatantly lie about the contents of the upcoming Fifth Assessment Report while muttering darkly about moral choices:
Is gambling acceptable? That, I would say, depends on the stakes and the odds. So consider this: the new IPCC report on extreme weather disasters and climate change highlights that 95% of deaths from such disasters occur in the developing world, while most of the economic losses occur in the developed world. We lose stuff, they lose their lives.
Now consider the conclusions of the 220 scientists from 62 countries, whose report has been approved by 194 nations. The carbon dioxide humanity has pumped into the atmosphere is warming the planet and it’s 99% certain that hot days have already become more common and 66% likely that heatwaves, intense rainstorms and extreme high tides have already increased.
The conclusion 220 scientists from 62 countries, eco speak for the widely discredited IPCC 2007 Fourth Assessment report, Carrington knows he dare not speak its name, so goes for an oblique reference to obtain scientific integrity for his point.
Not so, as Carrington wells knows this approach of blaming everything on Climate Change, more commonly called event attribution, and quoting uncalibrated predictions of chances of weather Armageddon events is nothing more than fear mongering Climate Religion propaganda.
Here is what Myles Allen, one of Carrington’s 220 scientists had to say about Al Gore propagating the same lies as Carrington:
When Al Gore said last week that scientists now have “clear proof that climate change is directly responsible for the extreme and devastating floods, storms and droughts that displaced millions of people this year,” my heart sank. Having suggested the idea of “event attribution” back in 2003, and co-authored a study published earlier this year on the origins of the UK floods in autumn 2000, I suspect I may be one of the scientists being talked about.
It is difficult to believe that Carrington does not read the Environment blog of the paper he writes for.
Those holding the fringe opinions that climate change is not a problem and needs no action seek to hide in uncertainty. This new report shows very clearly there is simply nowhere credible to hide, unless you are prepared to gamble with human lives at very poor odds.
The standard lefty attempt to discredited the opposition to their Climate Religion by describing Climate Realists as a fringe opinion, which is an interesting point of view when Carrington knows his junk science is well past it’s sell by date, as there is now an increasing moral, not scientific imperative to give our wealth to the Third World.
What is really in the forthcoming report on weather events is:
Confidence in projecting changes in the direction and magnitude of climate extremes depends on many factors, including the type of extreme, the region and season, the amount and quality of observational data, the level of understanding of the underlying processes, and the reliability of their simulation in models. Projected changes in climate extremes under different emissions scenarios5 generally do not strongly diverge in the coming two to three decades, but these signals are relatively small compared to natural climate variability over this time frame. Even the sign of projected changes in some climate extremes over this time frame is uncertain. For projected changes by the end of the 21st century, either model uncertainty or uncertainties associated with emissions scenarios used becomes dominant, depending on the extreme.
A long way away from what Carrington is spinning, this is not journalism but a concerted effort to mislead and push warming alarmist propaganda.
Betting on action is the only moral choice
Morals, morality and moral superiority are becoming the in words for the warming alarmists, being Green is all about moral superiority, the sort of moral superiority that wants taxes on energy so that in Britain jobs are lost, 6 million households are in energy poverty, children live in damp cold housing and people who have served in the Armed Forces are homeless, all totally acceptable to the Green Liberal mindset because they can assuage the guilt they were born with by giving our money to the developing nations.
It is moral right and just to ignore problems in your own country just as long as the end game of wealth redistribution and one world government is achieved.
Someone really should tell Damian Carrington that the UN redistributes wealth by climate policy and that all pretence of real science died long ago.
