Wind Power Joins Solar Power In Death Spiral
2009 was the peak year for investments in the Green failure that is renewables, since then there has been a slow but steady decline as populations across the developed world woke up to costs of the Green taxation and crony capitalism that funded the short lived renewables boom.
Since the third successive failure of the UN Climate Synod in November 2011 the rate of decline in the renewables industry has accelerated to the point where bankruptcies of companies and cutbacks in investment have become an almost daily event.
In Germany the solar industry is all but dead, in Britain the cut in Green taxation for solar power is causing the smart money to get the hell out and in the USA the same trend is happening as other companies follow the pattern set by Solyndra and go bust.
Now Vestas the biggest producer of wind turbines has seen its stock fall 19% after the company downgraded it’s revenue and profit forecast for the second time in 2 months.
Vestas, whose shares have lost 92 percent from a 2008 high, blamed higher costs and delayed wind farms, helping drive down shares in rivals Gamesa Corp. Tecnologica SA of Spain and India’s Suzlon Energy Ltd. Its plan to unveil a restructuring on Jan. 12 without giving a hint of its nature left analysts questioning management’s credibility.
Vestas and U.S. rival General Electric Co. are suffering from slower demand growth and narrowing margins caused by subsidy cuts in Europe and rising competition from Asian turbine makers such as China’s Sinovel Wind Group Co., the world’s second biggest, according to a BTMS Consult ranking.
Of all the useless renewables wind power is the most expensive, because even after Green taxation and subsidies for the wind farms have been paid by industry and the public there is then the cost of providing 100% backup for the frequent days when the bird choppers cannot operate because it is too cold, or there is too little or too much wind.
Any politician that believes wind power is viable is deluded by Climate Religion or more interested in pandering to vocal Green groups, they certainly do not have the well being of the people who voted for them or their country’s energy security as their uppermost concern.
The decline of the wind-turbine makers is another blow to the “progressive” “green jobs” politicians, who do not seem to comprehend that there is no future for an industry that relies almost solely on subsidies for its profitability. However, when the shale gas revolution hits the energy markets with full force, even the last supporters of subsidised wind power will have to face reality ….
The Green ecomentalists already know the danger that shale gas poses to their Agrarian Utopia and are busy spinning lies and disinformation to try to keep their dream of a controlled society alive, the media and the world have moved on, too much crying wolf and no wolf have done the damage to the Green marxist cause.
