The Answer To Global Warming Is Socialism

That is it then, in the post Rio+20 failed world of sustainable development the only hope for the Green agenda, and reducing CO2 emissions is socialism.

To be fair there is an element of truth in the reducing of CO2 emissions, given that there has yet to be a socialist government anywhere in the world that has not run its finances like a junkie trying to finance their habit with Pay Day loan sharks, and the resulting economic crash, that by killing industry and jobs does reduce CO2 emissions.

The Spanish experiment with Green socialism is a case in point, the rush to Green the Spanish economy by the then socialist government and the ludicrous Green subsidies paid to wind and solar have been a major contributor to that country’s current economic problems.

The economics of socialism have never added up, the economics of Green with the never ending subsidies for wind and solar, and the Holy Grail of the zero growth economy are wholly unworkable unless you have been snorting way too much Pixie dust:

The central lesson of ecology is that everything is connected to everything else, meaning that human activities interact with nature in sometimes problematic ways. Thus, evidence accumulating this summer of powerful and accelerating changes in the global climate offers a warning that capitalism’s insatiable appetite for profits is pushing the global climate system toward runaway global warming.

Now about China, the second largest emitter of CO2 and soon to be the largest emitter, unless there has been a massive regime and ideology change, China is communist, not capitalist.

The socialists have learnt quickly from the Greens about ignoring inconvenient truths.

The physical evidence has appeared in the form of intense heat waves and a spreading drought covering two-thirds of the U.S., the continuing collapse of ice shelves in Antarctica, and now the sudden melt-off of ice over the whole of Greenland.

Another impressive display of the socialist learning curve, grab a few standard issue Green scare stories founded in science fantasy and hyperbole, a healthy helping of event attribution, and ignore the truth that the recent Greenland surface ice melt was in fact a cyclic event that happens on average every 150 years.

The Greens as we know them today started life in 13th Century Germany and was an ideology embraced by Hitler and the Nazis in the 20th Century:

As Adolf Hitler insisted in Mein Kampf: ‘Man’s effort to build up something that contradicts the iron logic of nature brings him into conflict with those principles to which he himself exclusively owes his existence. By acting against the laws of nature he prepares the way that leads to ruin … Our planet has been moving through spaces of ether for millions and millions of years, uninhabited by men, and at some future date may easily begin to do so again – if men should forget that wherever they have reached a superior level of existence, it was not the result of following the ideas of crazy visionaries but by acknowledging and rigorously observing the iron laws of nature.’ As Dr. Mark Bassin says (in the useful book How Green Were the Nazis?), ‘The very appeal to the authority of organicist-ecological principles for guidance in interpreting society and political organization was seen as a fundamental aspect of what fascism was all about.’

The Green desire for enforced governmental interference in everyday life to save Gaia, more regulation, the  restriction of personal liberties and the abolition of democracy for political objectives, there is without doubt a pattern to the standard Green operating procedure for governance.

There will be those that read this that say this is an attempt to smear the Greens with a Nazi slur, much in the same the way that,  warmists slur people who do not buy into their “science” as deniers, the implication of deniers being denial of the Holocaust.

It is worth remembering that Hitler and the Nazis were all about National Socialism.

The Nazis slaughtered people because of their racial heritage, there is a significant faction with the Green environmental movement that want to cull most of the world’s population,  Green population guru Paul Ehrlich wants to remove 80% of people from the planet, Canadian environmentalist David Suzuki thinks that people are maggots defecating on the planet, and the pulchritudinous Professor Kari Marie Norgaard of Oregon University wants climate change sceptics drugged and brain washed while vilifying them as evil racists.

Finnish environmentalist guru Pentti Linkola wants climate change deniers sent to ecogulags for political re-education, so yes there is a similarity between Nazis and Greens in that neither of them tolerate dissent to the party line, and the Nazis used draconian measures to enforce their rule, in the same way the Greens cry for draconian measures to protect Gaia.

It is a cruel and disgusting irony that while at one end of a forest German soldiers lined up naked Jewish men, women and children and machine gunned them, at the other end of the forest Gaia’s storm troops set up country walks, and protected the environment.

The Waffen SS were fed on organically produced food, sustainable development was a core Nazi goal, until it was realised that sustainable development would not power the Nazi war machine,  so sustainable development was exchanged for total war.

Meanwhile back in the 21st Century:

The only viable choice in responding to the ecological crisis of capitalism is socialism. Continuing the effort to reform capitalism is a dead end, as Rio+20 has unequivocally demonstrated. Abandoning modern society also is not a choice, as that would mean abandoning the very tools we need to limit the impact of the crisis and adapt to a changing climate.

In between these extremes lies socialism, a system that would redirect the wealth of society to meeting human needs and restoring and preserving a healthy environment. Through central planning under the command of the working class, human society would be able to address and react to even some of the harshest aspects of global warming.

“Central planning under the command of the working class“, that has a depressingly familiar ring from history, ah yes,  there was an experiment with this idea in the 20th Century, that lasted some 70 years and involved dictators killing tens of millions of their own people, sending them for re-education to the far flung wastelands of the country, and because the people were so happy the working class rulers had to build a wall, with land mines and armed guards to keep the people from leaving their idyllic lives in the USSR and joining with the imperialist capitalist running dogs in the free world.

There is no doubt that socialism and Green have a lot in common, both have unworkable economic models, both require huge amounts of state intervention, thought police and draconian penalties for those that transgress the approved way of living, when it all comes down to it Democratic Capitalism is far from perfect, but it is light years ahead of living under a Green Socialist authoritarian regime.
