Britain’s New Right Wing Environment Secretary
There is a new Environment Secretary, Owen Paterson who moves from being Secretary of State for Northern Ireland to being Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) where he replaces the lacklustre warming alarmist Caroline Spelman, who has been
shitcanned moved to the back benches.
The really good news is that Paterson is a real Conservative, from the right wing of the Party which of course, in the eyes of the Green Liberal warming alarmists makes him a very bad person.
No surprises for guessing that over in Green Liberal propaganda land, sometimes called the Guardian, Gaia’s self appointed representative Damian “I AM HEAD OF ENVIRONMENT” Carrington has returned from his sabbatical to tell us all just what a bad person Owen Paterson really is:
But environmental campaigners should prepare for deep disappointment: despite listing “trees” as an interest, Paterson is no treehugger. In May, he reportedly told the Cabinet that it should end all energy subsidies, such as those for wind and solar power, and fast-track shale gas exploitation. He also urged more aviation capacity, which seems far more likely now Justine Greening – implacably opposed to a third runway at Heathrow has been removed. As MP for North Shropshire, Paterson has spoken against wind farms and the new pylons needed to carry their power to the national grid.
There will much wailing and gnashing of teeth from the Greens, as Paterson can see the Green renewable energy boondoggle, is just that, an expensive Green elephant that raises the cost of energy for all, with the added bonus of killing jobs and forcing millions of households into energy poverty.
His appointment marks a sharp lurch away from the green-minded policies which sheltered in the environment department and a significant weakening of the green voice at the Cabinet table.
His predecessor, Caroline Spelman, presided over the disastrous attempt to sell-off England’s publicly owned forests and woodlands. But she spoke convincingly, if quietly, about the value of the nation’s natural environment and the false economy of despoiling it in the desperate search for a quick fix to the recession.
Spelman is a committed warming alarmist who has commented on this blog a number of times, here is a typical comment from Spelman:
You guys really do make me laugh.
This whole web site is against the idea of man made climate you have been bleating for years that human activity could not POSSIBLY contribute to Global Warming… never never never. The scientists promoting it must be liars, You say.
Well Caroline I hope you enjoyed your laugh, I could be magnanimous now that your Parliamentary career offers nothing more than being a failed minister, unseen and unheard on the back benches of the House of Commons, but being an evil right wing climate change denying lowlife: Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Greens will not see those as safe. Paterson is seen as being on the right of the Conservative party – keen to deregulate and opposed to gay marriage, for example.
The relevance of Gay Marriage to Paterson’s ability to do his job is?
Oh yeah, if Paterson is against that other socialist/liberal cause celebre Gay Marriage, then, it follows that he must be a very nasty person who right now might be putting another badger on the BBQ.
And if you are tempted by omens, consider this: Paterson’s brother-in-law is apparently arch climate sceptic writer Matt Ridley.
The real death blow to Climate Religion in Britain was the removal of Attila the Huhnatic to face criminal charges of Perverting the Course of Justice, Huhne and his ex-wife go on trial in October.
Huhne kept the Green Dream alive in Britain, his dream to have 32,000 on shore bird choppers fortunately will now never happen, but love him or hate him, Huhne was once a political force to be reckoned with.
The appointment of Owen Paterson reflects a growing trend in western governments where the realisation that the Green Dream is politically correct economic suicide has dawned, and vote seeking politicians presiding over economic down turns know that Green ideological policies will not get them reelected.
