UN Climate Talks In Bonn Set To Fail For The Second Time In 2014
The UN Climate Circus is set for more Déjà vu in Bonn, as the next meeting scheduled for June heads towards the inevitable failure has defined every UN attempt to keep the Anthropogenic Global Warming boondoggle alive since 2009.
The first Bonn meeting held in March 2009 achieved nothing except to highlight the divisions about who should cut CO2 emissions, and who should not, and who should pay vast amounts of money for “loss and damage“, the current euphemism for wealth redistribution.
The second meeting in Bonn is regarded by the warming alarmist industry as an important step towards a Climate Deal in 2015, with all 196 countries being asked to send ministers to the meeting.
So far only 21% of countries are sending ministers and that is just the start of the problems for the UN:
Only 43 of a possible 196 government ministers are currently scheduled to attend a special ‘high level’ session at the next round of UN climate change negotiations, aimed at boosting carbon cutting measures in the next seven years.
Hosted by Peru’s Environment Minister Manuel Pulgar Vidal, who will be President of the 2014 UN climate summit, the June meeting in Bonn is billed as an important step towards a proposed global climate deal in 2015.
Then there are doubts about who will attend and who wont:
China, the US, France and the EU are all billed to attend, but there appear to be no representatives from some of the world’s largest carbon polluters such as the UK, Russia, Australia, Brazil, India and South Africa.
The June talks differ from those in March because countries were specifically asked to send ministers, the failure of 75% of the world to do so highlights a problem the UN would like to keep hidden, what they call “lack of engagement”. The UN Climate Circus is supposed to deliver a draft text for a global climate deal by November 2014, this is looking increasingly unlikely.
Ban Ki Moon is holding a special “leaders summit” in September on Climate Change at the UN General Assembly in September, which is proving slightly less popular than Bonn so far:
So far only a few heads of state have confirmed they will attend Ban Ki-moon’s ‘leader’s summit’ on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in September, although it would be a shock if many shun the event.
The chances of a global climate deal become more remote with each passing day as the majority of political leaders across the world now longer pay even lip service to the man made climate change scam.
