In October 2011 the WWF produced a report entitled Positive Energy how renewable electricity can transform the UK energy market by 2030.

If the WWF plan were to be implemented then the UK electricity market would be transformed, with only politically correct Green approved energy generation, rolling power cuts would be the order of the day, because, of course reliable gas and nuclear electricity generation would be illegal.

The WWF now have a new plan to save the planet, in line with the sustainable development meme from next months Rio+20 Earth Summit:

Extremist green campaigning group WWF – endorsed by no less a body than the European Space Agency – has stated that economic growth should be abandoned, that citizens of the world’s wealthy nations should prepare for poverty and that all the human race’s energy should be produced as renewable electricity within 38 years from now.

Most astonishingly of all, the green hardliners demand that the enormous numbers of wind farms, tidal barriers and solar powerplants required under their plans should somehow be built while at the same time severely rationing supplies of concrete, steel, copper and glass.

The WWF presents these demands in its just-issued Living Planet Report for 2012. It’s a remarkable document, not least for the fact that it is formally endorsed for the first time by the European Space Agency (ESA) – an organisation which would cease to exist in any meaningful form if the document’s recommendations were to be carried out.

The WWF and all the other players in the Climate Change scam are against any form of progress, regression to the  drudge and poverty of  18th Century living standards is their dream.

The report then assumes that global resources in general are limited, which is easily achieved by measuring them in terms of “biocapacity” expressed in hectares of Earth surface, and further stipulating that no resources can come from beyond Earth (which seems an odd idea for a major space agency to endorse, but there). WWF goes on to assign numbers showing how much of these hectare-resources everyone is using, their “ecological footprint”.

In these terms, the only people on Earth who are living within their means are those in the poorest nations – their “footprint” exactly matches the “biocapacity” in their countries (doubtless a coincidence) offering a picture of the sort of life all human beings could aspire to in a WWF-run world.

The WWF plan will be received with rapturous applause by the 50,000 hypocrites who will fly to Rio, jump in to limos and be driven to their air-conditioned hotel rooms.

Norbert Röttgen Germany’s Environment Minister, the first Green political casualty more are bound to follow

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has fired her Environment Minister Norbert Röttgen for being Green and believing that renewables can power an industrial economy like Germany.

Merkel is a very astute politician and determined to hang on to power, Germany has often been quoted by the ecomentalists as leading the Green transition disaster in Europe, which is exactly what Merkel wanted people to believe.

The reality is different Merkel wanted to pay political lip service to the Green Dream while in reality, doing as little as possible, so chosing an ardent Green ecomentalist was a rare mistake for Merkel.

This last winter the lights nearly went out in Germany and the outlook for this winter is still far from certain.

German solar has been a huge financial disaster, and new financial regulations make it impossible to invest in off shore wind farms, which leaves the German Green Dream as good as dead.

Norbert Röttgen, Angela Merkel’s Environment Minister, was – until a few hours ago – the face of Germany’s green energy transition. He aligned himself with a goal which can be stated politically, but which cannot be reached technically. His sacking was therefore inevitable. He is the first political victim of the green energy transition – he will almost certainly not be the last.

An almost unthinkable event, a politically correct Green zealot has been fired for being a politically correct Green zealot, other Green politicians take note, destroying a country’s energy supply because of personal religious beliefs in the Church of Climatology is no longer acceptable.

The cause for his sacking is the looming failure of the green energy transition. Angela Merkel’s statement is quite clear if one is able to translate political language. She said:

“The energy transition is a central project of this legislative period. The foundations have been laid but we still have quite bit of work ahead of us. [...] It is obvious that the implementation of energy policy still requires great efforts.”

In other words, we have achieved nothing and it is unclear how we can achieve anything.

The usual Green disaster when political and religious ideology override economic and common sense, billions wasted lining the pockets of a few, while jobs are lost and millions of people are pushed into energy poverty.

For the Chancellor, the green energy transition is probably not something that she does out of conviction. She has just – as so often –adopted a policy in order to neutralize it, to give her opponents no point of attack, no room for distinction and no potential for mobilization. As part of this political tactic, she initially scheduled the nuclear phase-out for 2040, far enough into the future in order not to do anything significant today. After Fukushima, however, she brought the date forward by 18 years, not for technical reasons, but solely in order to maintain power. So she closed down a couple of old, inefficient plants so that folks did not start demonstrating and voting for the Green Party. What she needed was a minister who followed this plan in a way that was politically communicable but would not lead to major upheavals in practice.

Merkel certainly will not be making the same mistake with the new Environment Minister Peter Altmaier, a politician cast in the same mould as Merkel, Altmaier helped develop the tactics that Merkel uses to stay in power.

So where does Altmaier stand on the Green energy transition?

At last an Environment minister who puts the needs of his country ahead of being politically correct and Green on the world stage.

Arctic sea ice has grown twice the size of Texas in 5 years, when according to warmist predictions the Arctic should be ice free now.

The world was a different place in 2007, the warming alarmists and their fear stories of Environmental Holocaust were believed by a frightened world, Climategate had yet to expose the junk science behind the Green political agenda, it was a time for all those complicit in the Anthropogenic Global Warming scam to make predictions that could not possibly be wrong, or so they arrogantly thought.

Take one Jay Zwally, a NASA Climate Scientist who predicted the Arctic would be ice free in the Summer of 2012, and to be fair Zwally was not the only scientist soothsayer casting the runes:

An already relentless melting of the Arctic greatly accelerated this summer—a sign that some scientists worry could mean global warming has passed an ominous tipping point.

One scientist even speculated that summer sea ice could be gone in five years.

Greenland’s ice sheet melted nearly 19 billion tons more than the previous high mark, and the volume of Arctic sea ice at summer’s end was half what it was just four years ago, according to new NASA satellite data obtained by the Associated Press (AP).

“The Arctic is screaming,” said Mark Serreze, senior scientist at the government’s snow and ice data center in Boulder, Colorado.

Just last year two top scientists surprised their colleagues by projecting that the Arctic sea ice was melting so rapidly that it could disappear entirely by the summer of 2040.

This week, after reviewing his own new data, NASA climate scientist Jay Zwally said: “At this rate, the Arctic Ocean could be nearly ice-free at the end of summer by 2012, much faster than previous predictions.”

So scientists in recent days have been asking themselves these questions: Was the record melt seen all over the Arctic in 2007 a blip amid relentless and steady warming? Or has everything sped up to a new climate cycle that goes beyond the worst case scenarios presented by computer models?

“The Arctic is often cited as the canary in the coal mine for climate warming,” said Zwally, who as a teenager hauled coal. “Now as a sign of climate warming, the canary has died. It is time to start getting out of the coal mines.”

Since 2007 atmospheric CO2 levels have continued to rise and the Arctic ice sheet has increased  in size, satellites are showing the second highest recorded  extent of ice in the Bering Sea which is literally choked with ice,  while the polar ice cap has grown, increasing in area by twice the size of Texas.

Yet another failed warming alarmist prediction to join all the other non events they have failed to happen.

Stricter financial rules in Germany now mean that off shore wind farms can no longer be financed by banks

Germany is in a serious mess with its energy supplies, the German government was stupid enough to bow to the hysterical screams of the Green environmental lobby and shut down all its nuclear power stations.

The Greens rejoiced, prematurely as usual, that nasty bunny bothering reliable nuclear power was gone, Germany would be powered by the Green dream of solar and wind power, what could possibly go wrong?

All of it to be precise.

Just about all of the Green renewables dream has gone down the tubes, a glut of solar panels, cheaper competition from China and cuts in the life blood of renewables, Green taxation on energy bills have killed German solar, stone dead.

In the greed driven rush to grab the Green subsidies, the normally efficient and detail obsessed  Germans have built a massive wind farm off Heligoland without any means to connect the wind farm to their national grid.

Tighter fiscal rules in Germany have now killed the off shore wind farm:

The knockout blow for the financing of offshore wind farms is the so-called matching maturities rule which was aggravated to stabilize the financial markets. “Offshore wind farms cannot be financed by anyone. We have just been banned from doing this.”

Next bad news for the German Federal Government: Stricter regulations of the financial markets are endangering the green energy transition.

Everything depends on everything else, it is said forever. But who would have thought that this also applies to the banking regulation and the green energy transition? At a meeting of the Council for Market Economy, supported by the Association of Bavarian Industry (vbw), Commerzbank board member Markus Beumer granted insight into applied political chaos theory.

He doubted that the switch to offshore wind power generation will occur. The dream, he said, was founded on “wind farms that cannot be financed by anyone.” What particularly upset the banker: “We have just been banned from doing this”. The host and President of the Association of Bavarian Industry Randolf Rodenstock commented dryly: “When it comes to the green energy transition, nothing surprises me anymore. If there are no profitable businesses, then the transition will simply not take place.”

The problem with solar and wind power is two fold:

1. Without Green subsidy wind and solar are not financially viable

2. As the sun cannot be guaranteed to shine, and the wind to blow at times of peak demand these forms of renewable energy will always need a back up fossil fuel power station on-line to meet peak demand or the lights go out. Thus wind and solar are always going to be more expensive than the single reliable power generation source and warmist claims of renewables saving the CO2 emissions they so fear,  just the usual Green lies because they do not include the CO2 emissions from the stand by power station in their Greenwash.

The knockout blow for the financing of offshore wind farms is the so-called matching maturities, which was aggravated to stabilize the financial markets. Due to this regulation, banks should secure their loans with a refinancing of a similar maturity. After all, in the banking crisis, banks which had borrowed money for long-term loans only for short-term got into serious trouble.

The German financial system now views wind farm as sub prime, how ironical with the Greens calling oil and fracking sub prime investments.

There are longer maturities in the construction business, but there the conditions are different. There, the refinancing is secured via mortgage bonds, and the property stands as security. In an emergency, the bank could recover its money by a foreclosure. For offshore wind farms off the German coast, however, there is no experience how long the giants will last in the mud. As a result, Commerz banker Beumer does not give credit for eco-projects: “Banks cannot take the risks for a non-proven technology.”

There is a lesson that every industrialised country in the world should learn, if you are stupid enough to let Green environmental zealots decide on your mix of electricity generation then prepare for industry to leave and the lights to go out, the future is rolling blackouts.

During the last winter Germany came within an ace of the lights going out, and winter 2012 is looking bleaker for Germany, unless emissions  laws are suspended for old coal fired power stations, Germans will be freezing in the dark come the winter.

EU Climate commissar Connie Hedegaard and the con men from the Alliance of Small Island States (Aosis)

The warming alarmists take great pride in leading the way, taking the moral high ground, being morally superior in the vain and ill founded hope that other nations will follow their example and commit economic suicide.

The reality is that while one nation commits economic suicide, the others look on in wonderment, Australia’s carbon tax has proved so politically divisive that the Australian Labor Party got hammered at the polls, British Columbia enacted a bold set of climate change policies and assumed others would follow.

Assumptions can frequently be wrong as British Columbia’s environment minister Terry Lake has found out, in a recent interview Lake said: “I think it is safe to say that we expected more jurisdictions to be coming up and joining us in this kind of public policy, that hasn’t happened.“

Leadership on climate change is dangerous and ultimately stupid, it only leads to job losses and energy poverty and now as the Euro crises grinds inexorably onwards, the warming alarmists are becoming concerned that EU is no longer in the vanguard of climate stupidity, Richard Black at the BBC:

UN climate talks have opened in Germany, with the EU struggling to keep its position of a global leader.

Small developing countries that linked up with the EU in a new coalition last year say the bloc must commit to tougher emission cuts and more finance.

Existing pledges on “climate aid” run out at the end of this year, and the EU has yet to clarify what happens then.

Following the tsunami in Japan the German Greens screamed for German nuclear to be shutdown, the politicians caved into the Greens and now to make up for the lost nuclear capacity the German Network Agency is calling for suspension of EU emissions laws for old coal plants, the lights nearly went out last winter, they will this year without coal fired power stations.

Last December’s annual UN climate summit, in South Africa, saw the EU team up alongside at least 80 nations, primarily small island states and Least Developed Countries (LDCs), in a new “rainbow coalition” pressing for a new global deal that would eventually restrict all nations’ emissions.

At a small informal meeting in Brussels last week, just over 30 nations from the coalition took stock of the situation, with members of the Alliance of Small Island States (Aosis) urging the EU to adopt the 30% target as soon as possible.

“There was agreement that it’s got to go up to 30%,” Tony de Brum, Minister in Assistance of the Marshall Islands, told BBC News.

“We don’t want to be intrusive or over-reaching, but we said ‘we don’t think the disagreement in your group is so overwhelming – when 26 say yes and one says no, we think you could probably bring along the dissident, so please don’t come to us with this kind of excuse’.”

The small island states are a slick bunch of con men, the Maldives held a cabinet meeting under water to draw attention to the lie that their islands were sinking beneath the waves, while at the same time a new airport was being constructed for use long after the Maldives were going to be submerged.

The really good news for the island nations, and Tuvalu in particular is that Envisat shows sea levels are falling, which the grasping con men of Aosis know all too well.

However, EU Climate Commissioner Connie Hedegaard said moving to a 30% target this year would be “very, very challenging“.

If unelected EU Climate commissar Connie thinks something would be very, very challenging,  then the writing is on the wall for the EU’s undemocratic Green zealots.

The EU parliament has backed away from sending a huge delegation to the Rio+20 Earth Summit next month, because it knows the cost is simply not acceptable to Europeans facing harsh economic realities,   Comrade Connie is astute enough to know that Europeans are not going to be in favour of giving money away and slowing down their  economic recovery by more expensive job killing  emissions rules.

The future we want, we being the UN, Green NGOs, environmentalists seeking the Green agrarian society with no growth economic models and draconian laws to protect Gaia.

The Rio+20 Earth Summit in June was supposed to be the relaunch of the Anthropogenic Global Warming scare, carefully rebranded as “sustainable development“, the aims of “sustainable development” are the same as those for the manufactured climate change scam, zero growth economic models, population control and a return to a pre-indsutrialised world.

Even before the rebranding had started, world leaders like Barry Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron had more pressing engagements, Cameron citied the Queens Jubilee, so the date of Rio+20 was changed so Dave could go, he still is not going,  “Little Nicky” Clegg,  the deputy Prime Minister will attend instead.

According to the spin of the environmentalists it is only the Big Satan, the USA that resists the global economic suicide pact they so desire, all the developing nations are fully behind the Green zero economic growth economy:

During negotiations the Rio+20 negotiations, the G77 group has been the main force behind the push-back. Many within the group are concerned that the “green economy” is merely a ploy by northern countries to jump start their own troubled economies through technology and service transfers that the south would require in order to participate in the “green economy”.

Representatives from governments negotiating the outcome document for the United Nations Sustainable Development Conference (Rio+20) today agreed to add five more days of deliberations to bridge differences that have kept them from making further progress in negotiations.

The extended negotiations will begin the 29th of May and last for five days, ending June the 2nd. Formal negotiations will pick up again in Rio on the 13th of June.

The document is now over 100 pages long and is “is a far cry from the ‘focused political document’ called for by the General Assembly,” according to Rio+20 Secretary-General Sha Zukang.

Controversy surrounds the current text and is getting in the way of producing a streamlined text that all countries will be able to agree upon at the final conference in Rio to be held in June. According to UN news:

Countries have voiced concern over accountability and implementation of the commitments made, as well as over the theme of the green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty, with some developing countries asserting that a green economy approach should not lead to green protectionism or limit growth and poverty eradication.

The G77 nations are on the right track, Greenpeace, WWF, FoE and a host of other Green and Environmental NGOs want to stop all economic growth, it is not a case of restrictive trade practices, to accelerate the recovery of financially troubled western economies, simply a desire to smother further technological progress.

As the date draws closer another major player in the Climate Change scam, will not now be going to Rio:

The European Parliament has cancelled plans to send a delegation to the UN’s Rio+20 summit on sustainable development taking place in June, saying the costs are too prohibitive.

The Parliament had planned to send 11 MEPs. But yesterday the political group co-ordinators on the environment committee decided that hotel costs, of up to €800 a night, were too exorbitant. A delegation from the European Commission will attend, led by Janez Potocnik, the European commissioner for the environment.

“The huge increase in the estimated cost of attending the summit is simply not justifiable, especially at a time when many Europeans are faced with economic hardship,” said Matthias Groote, the chairman of the environment committee. 

This summit like the COP meetings in Copenhagen, Cancun and Durban will achieve nothing as the converted preach to the converted and the rest of the world ignores them.

Britain is to abandon solar subsidies which benefits the rich at the expense of the poor and jobs

At last a small ray of sense has flickered briefly from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) who are now working on a further cut in FeedIn Tariffs (FIT) for solar panel installations.

The Energy Act 2008′s Green taxation to support the solar industry has been described as “one of the most ridiculous schemes ever dreamed up” by Energy Minister Lord Marland, moves to cut the FIT were met with legal action by FoE and solar panel companies who cannot exist with out tax payer funded Green subsidy.

The resultant cut in the FIT to 21.4p per KwH has seen a marked drop in so called Green installations of solar panels, proving once again it was never about the environment, just an opportunity to make what the DECC now describe as “eye watering profits“, with a further cut in Green subsidy on the way,  the whingeing is already starting:

Some 400 senior figures in the solar energy industry said demand for panels has collapsed since the Government started slashing financial incentives for families that want to go green.

Oh really? Surely if these families really wanted to go Green, then the FIT would be of second order of importance, nothing is more important than saving the planet, right?

Wrong.

Ministers provoked fury last year when they more than halved the subsidy for the feed-in tariff for households which feed excess electricity from their solar panels into the national grid.

Critics said the move would deter people from buying panels, which cost an average of £12,000, because it would double the time it took them to recoup their initial investment.

The Department for Energy and Climate Change (Decc) is now consulting on a further cut in feed-in tariffs to come into effect in July. It argues that the scheme still amounts to a generous subsidy for prosperous people who can afford panels, funded by less well-off consumers. But the solar energy firms told Mr Cameron, who promised to lead the “greenest government ever”, that demand for solar panels has halved in the past year because of the uncertainty over subsidies.

In their own words, uncertainty over subsidies without which the renewable energy sector, with the exception of hydro, cannot exist.

People are more concerned about turning a profit than being Green, the environmental movement would do well to recognise this, instead of spreading the usual lies that people support renewables.

The only people who support wind and solar are those making a fortune out of the scam, the Green NGOs with their Agrarian society dreams and the dwindling number of people who read the Guardians Environment section.

A Decc spokeswoman said: “Solar does have a bright future in the UK. It is an exciting and popular new technology, but it would be totally irresponsible to continue subsidising the lucky few who are making eye-watering profits at the expense of the consumer who pays for this subsidy through their electricity bills.”

She said that even at a tariff of 21p, rates of return are still higher than they were ever intended.

The German solar industry which was far bigger than Britain’s is bankrupt and all but dead, cuts in subsidies and a glut of solar panels on the world market sounded the death knell, it is ludicrous to think that Britain’s solar industry would fare any better.

All Feedin Tariffs should be ended, consumers energy bills reduced and if wind and solar survive then they were a viable technology, if not they were just another Green white elephant.

The fraudster normally calls investors out of the blue to tell them that carbon credits are ‘the new big thing’ in commodity trading and that they could make significant profits. The caller may claim that industries now have to off-set their CO2 emissions, the government is focusing on green developments, and that carbon credit trading is an ever growing market. While not all carbon credit trading schemes are a scam, you may lose money on your investment by not getting a competitive rate when trading a small volume of carbon credits or not being able to sell your credits at all.

As the great man climate change scam sinks slowly into irrelevance the warming alarmists are still trying to keep the Green Dream alive, by a number of methods varying from draconian laws to political re-eduction camps, and politically polarizing Climate Change as a Right versus Left battle.

One useful barometer of how warming alarmism is declining is to read the comments in the broadsheet propaganda outlet for Climate Religion, the Guardian, where the moderators are working overtime to remove politically incorrect comments and increasingly those concerned with real environmental issues, not the Green political agenda masquerading as environmentalism, are complaining about people like Caroline Lucas doing a disservice to the environmental movement.

In a lacklustre attempt to keep his spirits up and try to halt the decline in readers Damian Carrington preaches the usual Green lies to the converted and apart from wishing that climate sceptics would die of quicker manages to mention “fringe” 8 times and “Right Wing” 7 times:

It’s a good question, as the right wing of the Conservative party in the UK is acting as a dangerous and expensive drag on the developing green economy, but it’s worth getting some perspective before grappling with the issue. Only three of 600 or so MPs voted against the climate change act, which enshrined the UK’s carbon cuts in law. All three main parties in the UK back action on climate change, and every government and science academy on Earth does the same.

The Climate Change Act was voted on at a time when the easily led vote grabbing politicians thought there was some mileage in fear of Anthropogenic Global Warming, in effect this damaging piece of legislation floated through on the high tide of Climate Religion, and before Climategate did the terminal damage to the warming alarmist cause.

Carrington then states that every “every government and science academy on Earth” believes in man made climate change, this is quite simply pushing a lie. The day after COP17 finished Canada exercised its legal right to withdraw from the Kyoto protocol stating that “Kyoto was not the way forward for Canada or the world“. If this indeed were the case why then did the UN have its thrid COP failure in a row with COP17?

So the problem is a fringe one. About 10% of UK citizens think climate change poses no threat, but those people are twice as likely to be Conservative voters, and twice as likely to be male and over 65 years old. Nonetheless, this fringe exert an influence beyond their numbers, assisted by the right-wing press.

Belief in AGW is on the decline and attempting to describe those that do not believe in settled science as a “fringe minority” is just the basic tactic used by totalitarian regimes to suppress dissent  to the consesus on which their regimes depend. In a recent poll in the US on the environment concerns about climate change were bottom of the poll.

The fact that a coherent right-wing response is easily made suggests something more fundamental underlies the deniers’ position. That response was made by Tim Yeo, another Conservative MP, and chair of the energy and climate change committee. It is clear that the risks of inaction are too high, he said, and creating a low-carbon and resource efficient economy will give the UK a huge economic and competitive advantage in a world in which both temperature and population is rising. “We led the first industrial revolution and we can lead the second,”

Time Yeo chairman of the Energy and Climate Change committee has Green business interests in bio fuels, Eco City vehicles and alkaline fuel cell technology. These all pay very nicely with Yeo getting as much as £500 per hour, according to the register of members interests.

So anything Yeo has to say on Green issues is tainted with the avaricious  odour of self-interest.

An alternative, as Yeo has pointed out on a previous occasion, is to simply let nature take care of the elderly sceptics, who will go to their graves sooner than the rest of the population. The question is will either happen quickly enough to avoid the six degrees of warming to which the IEA says our current path will lead?

I fear not

Carrington fears that his political opponents will not die out in time for his ecofacist agenda to subjugate the world, still not to worry Damian you can always  get together with your other ecofacist friends and plot new ways to suppress dissent.

I would suggest Kari Norgaard to help you on the way to planning new vile and repugnant ways of suppressing dissent but the Green secret police seem to have erased her.

As the belief in man made climate change continues to decline so the Green ecofacists look to enforcing their ideology on others by way of draconian laws and with the usual fascist cries of it is time to suspend democracy.

Gaia Theorist and climate visionary James Lovelock has just become the latest high-profile alarmist to admit the movement never actually knew what it was talking about. Lovelock recanted his climate alarmist sins admitting, “The problem is we don’t know what the climate is doing”. True enough. But previously Lovelock was one of many quite prepared to “put democracy on hold” for the cause (leftie code for ‘stopping you and I from having a say’ and them getting their way).

Since Lovelock’s defection, former alarmist colleagues have been busy trying to find a low-carbon emitting bus to throw him under. In his Forbes blog, environmental writer Steve Zwick claimed Lovelock is “not a climate scientist, let alone a contributor to the IPCC. Most climate scientists cringe when he starts to talk about the climate.” Shame he didn’t warn us before Lovelock went AWOL that he was really a non-believer all along. But then Zwick is intolerant only to those who disagree with him.

Intolerance of any form of dissent is the hallmark of any form of repressive ideology, history contains the lessons of intolerance to dissent practiced by the Communists and Nazis.

In his Forbes blog, Zwick demands, “Let’s start keeping track of them now, and when the famines come, let’s make them pay. Let’s let their houses burn”. Shocked at reading back his own inflammatory rhetoric, Zwick feebly tries to damp down the public response in various addendum blogs.

Not that we should misrepresent him. Zwick does not advocate burning down the houses of sceptic’s now you understand. Zwick merely wants to exact revenge after the warming apocalypse breaks, advocating standing idly by as sceptics’ houses mysteriously spontaneously combust. I believe the KKK has a similar policy. A brief perusal of his Facebook page reveals Zwick is a ‘follower’ and defender of the character of Peter Gleick. Gleick, for the uninitiated, is the environmental scientist who recently hit the headlines as a proven liar when he impersonated a member of the Heartland Institute – whose crime was to disagree with Gleick on climate issues – to steal some of their documentation. It’s what eco-fascists don’t like to call ‘criminal deception’.

There are many other Green environmental journalists and writers who all have ideas of how to deal with those who commit the ideological crime of daring to differ with their dream of the repressive Green Agrarian society.

Journalist Alex Lockwood (in the leftwing UK Guardian) proposes “the internet should be nationalised as a public utility in order to contain the superfluous claims of warming sceptics”. Fred Pearce (again in the UK Guardian) demands we “silence the doubters”. At the 2007 Live Earth concert, Robert F. Kennedy Jr called for sceptics to be “treated as traitors” following this up with the demand that all coal execs “should be in jail for all eternity”.

Fascist intolerance? We’re only getting started.

Alarmist high priest James Hansen has called for sceptics to be put on trial for “high crimes against humanity”. Hansen has also endorsed a book by Keith Farnish that advocates sabotage and environmental terrorism by blowing up dams and demolishing cities to return us to an agrarian age. Hard left Grist magazine columnist David Roberts wants “war crimes trials for these bastards – some sort of climate Nuremberg.” Canadian environmentalist author David Suzuki suggests finding a “legal way of throwing our [climate foot-dragging political] leaders into jail” their climate negligence being “a criminal act”. Wouldn’t the Canadian Civil Liberties Association be appalled? After all, Suzuki is a former board member. Talking Points Memo is fairly representative of the views of hard left websites, asking, “At what point do we jail or execute global warming deniers”. Don’t you just love the liberal virtue of tolerance?

Then there was the now erased warming alarmist Kari Norgaard who wanted to treat climate sceptics “as they are sick racists“, Norgaard has recently urged Obama to ignore democracy, as if Obama needed any urging on that score, and enact the Green Agenda via dictate.

In April the US Department of Homeland Security released its Environmental Justice Strategy. It makes provision to incorporate the notion of “environmental justice” as a “homeland security” issue. If you thought Homeland was all about keeping citizens safe from terrorists, think again. Under President Obama they are about to create local “federal law enforcement” agents empowered specifically to enforce green laws and regulations in the name of “securing the homeland”. In short, a green police force. If it can happen in the land of the free, how long before the cop green-print recycles to socialist Europe?

The Green ecofacists at the EU are already planning a satellite to hunt down carbon violators, the thought of a Green EU controlled Police Force will have Connie Hedegaard sweating like an alcoholic in a distillery.
